We will be having in-person Graduation on Sunday, August 9, 2020, starting at 1:00 p.m. but will also stream the ceremony on Facebook live. The Tuscola County Health Department has given USA Schools permission to have an outdoor, in-person Graduation celebration this year with social distancing. It will take place at our Football facilities. They suggest that people do wear a mask, but it is not required as long as we maintain social distancing.
Graduates will be sitting in the home stands. Families will be in designated spaces on the football field. Families are able to have five (5) per family in the main section, with another five (5) people in an overflow section. The designated areas will be assigned by the school, seating families in alphabetical order. A map and more specific details and procedures for the ceremony will be posted on the school website https://www.think-usa.org/o/usa-school-district/news in the next week. Please note this event is not a public event and is limited to a maximum of ten (10) guests per graduate. Also, the event will require a significant amount of walking and due to restrictions, we are unable to provide a golf cart to assist guests.
After the graduation ceremony, we hope we can include as many family, friends and community members as possible at a parade in both Unionville and Sebewaing to celebrate the Class of 2020. There will be only one (1) car allowed per graduate to be in the parade. We will meet at the park in Unionville immediately after the ceremony at approximately 1:55 p.m. to line up. The parade will start at approximately 2:15 p.m. The parade route will also be posted next week on the school district's website.
We will also be having Graduation practice for the graduates at the football field after Baccalaureate on Thursday, August 6, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Parking will be on the grass by right field of the softball field.
