USA students learn to develop leadership
and personal growth potentials and explore career options through
the agricultural education provided by Future Farmers of America.
Our students develop projects related to the agriculture industry
and compete against other chapters from around the state and nation
to develop skills in presentations, organization, research and
leadership.
FCCLA stands for Family, Career,
Community, Leaders of America. FCCLA is the career & technical
student organization for family & consumer science education.
FCCLA is more than 50 years old, beginning in 1945 as the Future
Homemakers of
America and New Homemakers of America, then adding
Home Economics Related Occupations, and today is known as the
Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, or FCCLA. FCCLA's
programs provide relevant, real-world experience and unparalleled
leadership opportunities to the FCS curriculum.
Our local chapter focuses mainly on
community service and leadership experiences. We hold annual "Clean
out your Closet" drives to find clothes for the needy, "Prom Dress
Swap", which provides prom dresses to girls in need, "Teddy Bear
Drive", which raises money and stuffed animals for the Michigan
State Police and several other
community based projects.

Membership in the National Honor Society
is one of the highest honors bestowed on a high school student. The
NHS draws attention to the accomplishments of students who push
beyond the average academic effort of students. The Society helps
give practical meaning to the goals of scholarship, leadership,
service and character.
Our activities include: blood drives,
paper recycling, Valentine's Day Flower Sale, tutoring of middle
school students, VIP Buddies with elementary students in need of
additional friendships, and bottle/can drives to raise food for
other countries.
Preparing students for tomorrow's careers
means providing a solid understanding of diverse cultures, and in
particular foreign languages. Spanish has become a critical second
language for those in America , and the USA Spanish Club has
responded to this need by giving students a solid foundation of
basic Spanish words and phrases and insight into Central and South
American cultures. Student trips to Mexico round out the educational
experience at USA.
School spirit is the mission of the Student
Council! We strive to make USA the best school for students by
planning the Homecoming and Coming Home pep assemblies, Talent
Shows, entertainment, games and other activities. If school spirit
is high, the Student Council is probably the reason.
